The challengeFor over seven decades, Hazoorilal Jewellers has been synonymous with master craftsmanship, rare gemstones, and the emotional weight of bridal jewellery in India. Their heritage commanded reverence in-store but their digital presence failed to match it. We were brought in to reimagine the brand's entire Shopify experience: from visual identity translation to sophisticated commerce functionality that could handle the nuance of high-value, customisable jewellery. The brand carried the weight of a century of trust. The website felt like it was built in a different era one that didn't serve the modern, discerning buyer. Hazoorilal Jewellers existing e-commerce presence was fragmented, slow, and visually inconsistent with the opulence customers experienced in-store. High-net-worth buyers expected a curated, white-glove digital journey not a generic product catalogue. The technical debt was significant: outdated theme code, no mobile optimisation, and zero personalisation or guided selling features. Meanwhile, a younger generation of bridal shoppers were discovering jewellery online first. The challenge was threefold honour the heritage, modernise the experience, and build commerce infrastructure capable of handling complex product configurations, custom orders, and a geographically distributed clientele. Key pain points: No cohesive visual language across digital touchpoints Product discovery was broken no filtering by metal, stone, or occasion Custom and bespoke order enquiries handled entirely offline Site speed failing on mobile with 7 to 9 second load times No storytelling layer provenance and craft were invisible Checkout abandonment above 74% for high-value items No internationalisation for NRI clientele (UAE, UK, USA)

Heritage-Led Design: We translated Hazoorilal's in-store atmosphere into a digital visual language deep jewel tones, editorial typography, and a restrained layout that lets the jewellery breathe. Every page was designed to feel like a private showroom, not a product grid.
Shopify Architecture: Built from the ground up on Shopify with a custom theme using Liquid, leveraging the Online Store 2.0 section framework for flexibility. We implemented metafields extensively to support rich product storytelling gemstone details, craftsmanship notes, and certification data.
Commerce Intelligence: Sophisticated custom functionality was built to handle the realities of luxury jewellery commerce: multi-variant configuration, enquiry-to-order flows, custom ring sizer integrations, and geo-based currency switching for international customers.
